Haitian Diaspora Working in Haiti

The Haitian Diaspora Working in Haiti’s (HDWIH) mission has two objectives:
First, we aim to service the Haitian Diaspora returning to Haiti by supporting
their efforts and needs during their transition period. HDWIH will serve as a welcoming platform which will assist in the integration
and re-integration of the members of the Haitian Diaspora returning to Haiti
Second, we seek to capture the wide range of experiences of the Haitian
Diaspora worldwide to create a powerful advocacy group, which can articulate the
realities on the ground and provide guidance to policy makers as well as other stakeholders on key strategic issues.
Vision
To use the knowledge, skills, and experiences of
the Haitians who have returned to Haiti, not only to contribute,
but also to serve, as a powerful advocacy group for a new direction
of the development needs of Haiti.

Do you have experience owning a business or working in a field
relevant to business (such as web design or marketing)? Become a mentor
to an entrepreneur in Haiti and share the skills and knowledge you gained as
a member of the Diaspora. Mentoring takes place over phone, email and Skype.
Volunteering a few hours of your time each month can have a large and immediate impact on Haiti's economic recovery. MicroMentor
is an online service offered by Mercy Corps which connects entrepreneurs with business
mentors. Our mission is to help businesses of all sizes in Haiti, in the United States,
and around the world grow faster, generate more revenue, and employ more people.
